2018 Guide to the Best Restaurants in Scranton PA
When you want to spend some quality time with your friends or family, there’s nothing like a homegrown restaurant. Scranton has plenty of local restaurants to choose from, but below are our favorite places to break bread.
Restaurant.jpgLocated in The Colonnade, a restored turn-of-the-century mansion, POSH serves classic American cuisine in an elegant and historical setting. They feature daily lunch and dinner specials plus seasonal farm-to-table dishes.
Our favorite time to visit is during Sunday Brunch for a Croque Monsieur. This open-faced French sandwich tops country style bread, with ham, Swiss cheese, Dusseldorf mustard and a fried egg. Served with POSH potatoes, breakfast pastries, fresh fruit, and coffee, tea, or juice. Wash it all down with a build your own bloody mary.

Bar Pazzo is a locally-owned rustic style Italian restaurant in downtown Scranton. They have a trendy New York City vibe and cultivate a casual atmosphere.
They cook most dishes in their two Mugnaini wood fired ovens, so the pizza is clearly a must. For a local flair, try the Scrantonian, which comes with pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, and DOP tomatoes. Spice things up with a Pomegranate Jalapeno Martini, made of vodka, pomegranate liqueur, jalapeno, lime, and cranberry juice.

Cooper’s Seafood House
Restaurant.jpgFamily-owned and -operated for over 70 years, Cooper’s Seafood House is truly a Scranton staple. They feature a varied menu, but fresh seafood is their specialty.
Try something a little different and order the Seafood Crêpes, filled with shrimp, scallops, and lobster and topped with lobster sauce. Or, go for the ultimate comfort food and try the Lobster Mac and Cheese. This dish tops cavatappi pasta with fresh lobster meat, four cheeses, roasted red pepper, and parmesan bread crumbs.
